With the BuyHTTP cloud, scaling your server is a matter of ease. With a few clicks, and in just a few minutes, you can add the resources you need. With cloud servers, your data is stored on a centrally located SAN, so if you need more resources than the server you are on has you are instantly moved to a new node that does... all seemlessly and without any downtime.
With VPS hosting, your ability to scale is direclty impacted by other users on your hardware node. A host needs to maximize their revenue by adding users to a hardware node until it's almost full, leaving little room for expansion. Since all of your data is stored on the VPS server, scaling up often involves needing to setup a new VPS instance and moving your site. This can lead to site errors, downtime and headaches.

With the BuyHTTP cloud, downtime is practically a thing of the past. With our fully redundant setup and centralized SAN storage, if the server your cloud server is on goes down, you are immediately and seemlessly migrated to a new server. No other type of hosting can offer the self-healing and automatic failover that cloud hosting can.
Traditional VPS hosting cannot offer high-availability, because the availability of your site is directly tied to the uptime of the server you are on. If the server goes down, your VPS does down and you will need to recover from a backup. That can lead to a loss of data, loss of time, and a lot of downtime for your site.

With the BuyHTTP cloud, you are not affected by other users for prolonged periods. If there is a customer using too much resources, they can be migrated to a new server quickly. If you're that user, you'll appreciate not having your server shut down. You are never limited to the resources on the server you're on, and you never have to worry that a server upgrade will lead to downtime or site migrations. By keeping data separate from the servers, we can always be adding the highest performaing servers to our cloud cluster to be able to offer the best cloud hosting experience possible.
With traditional VPS hosting, your site is placed on a server that a provider is filling until it's resources are almost completely used, then they move on to the next server. When the server is full, there is no more room for upgrades, and if a user is using too much resources, they will impact your site loading until they can be moved to a new server, or until you can be moved. This process can take many hours, or many days. You are also stuck on the hardware you are put on when you order your VPS, unless you want to deal with moving the site. This means that as your site gets older, the hardware will age and older hardware has a much higher chance of failing.
